Cover song showdown : Overkill

Today listened to three covers of Men at Work’s Overkill (highly underrated 80s song)

Colin Hay Lead singer of Men at Work does an acoustic version of his own song, slows the tempo way down and gives a lot more weight to the lyrics and their meaning.

Dashboard Confessional – This version is just ok, kind of poppy sounds a lot like the Colin Hay acoustic version but is just kind of bland.

The Benjamin Gate – Female lead singer on a pretty good rocking version of the song.

Winner:  Colin Hay.  Kind of unfair since it is his song, but the acoustic version is even better than the original.
